On a wet and miserable Sunday bank holiday weekend it was touch and go as to whether the away game at Grayswood would go ahead. But the showers held off long enough to get in a couple of hours of great cricket.

Grayshott won the toss and elected to field first in the slippery conditions. Grayswood’s opening pair started strongly losing only one wicket, bowled by Cady. Once Grayshott got into their stride, 4 wickets fell in the third partnership taking Grayswood to 263 runs for 5.

After a brief stop, Grayshott’s opening pair gave a steady yet strong base for the remaining pairs totting up 12 runs with without loss, finding the gaps and taking the cheeky singles, second pair Cady and Patsy safely added another 9. Some pin point bowling saw Grayswood take their first wicket in the third pair, and an ambitious attempt at a run out saw the second and final wicket in the last pair. Some steady batting and sharp fielding took Grayshott to a winning 287 for 2.

Well done the Chargers! Big thank you to everyone who came to watch and support the team.
