On a wet and soggy Sunday afternoon the women headed to local club Headley for a friendly against the Hens, a new team for 2023.

Backed by the very glamourous pavilion – surely the best in the league, Grayshott won the toss and chose to field first.  After much slipping and sliding, Grayshott took three wickets due to some tight fielding, great bowling especially from Sonia and some very quick hands from keeper Al. Headley added on the runs achieving a strong 302 off 20 overs.

Headley then took to the field and with some fantastic bowling kept Grayshott on their toes, to a nail biting last over, where on the last ball Grayshott got the run they needed to win by just one run. A great team effort from both teams, and hopefully a ground soon to be added as a regular fixture.

With the league now finished, there are just a couple of friendlies left, and an interclub match on 22nd August to end the season in style.
