The Strikers were back in action at the weekend, as the women’s indoor season continues at Farnham Heath End School. With one team not able to play this week, the evening started with a friendly against Grayswood.

The Strikers batted first with Charlie B and Charlie W opening the batting and scoring 18 without loss. Next up Kirsty and Louise, who faced some tough bowling and scored -13, losing 3 wickets. 3rd and final pair, Nicky & Cath finished on a high to score 21, losing 1 wicket. The Strikers finished on 26. As Grayswood batted it was a close game, with bowling duties shared amongst the team. Despite taking 5 wickets, Grayswood ran well to score 36 and win the friendly. Well done Grayswood.

League game against Frimley Phoenix

Having got nicely warmed up during the friendly, it was onto the league match against Frimley Phoenix Fire. Frimley batted first, with the same bowlers in action for the Strikers. Whilst the team only managed to take 1 wicket, the tight calling and fielding made it difficult for Frimley to score runs. Frimley finished their innings on 36.

As the Strikers batted, first pair Charlie B and Charlie W improved on their friendly score to finish on 21, without loss. Second pair Kirsty & Louise had a stonker of an innings scoring 25 without loss. Last pair Nicky & Cath were keen to continue the team’s performance and not lose any wickets….and they absolutely did! Scoring 32 without loss. Meaning the Strikers finished on 78, without loss to win the match and take maximum points from the match. Fantastic stuff Strikers!

The indoor league continues this Sunday. Good luck Strikers.
