Women’s softball player, Cadence, is participating in a Sage Foundation volunteer project in Morocco.

Working with the local office, she and the other volunteers will prepare care packages full of essential school equipment which they’ll deliver to the children of Imlil. The team of volunteers will then spend 4 days in the village of Imlil, working with the local community to build a 500m irrigation system, to enable the community to be more sustainable by farming land which is currently infertile.

The trip finishes with a 3-day trek to the summit of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains which sits at 4,167 metres.

“I’m so excited to be a part of this trip and be able to make a long-lasting and sustainable difference to the Imlil community. The entire trip is also being carbon-offset, to make sure we’re doing our bit for the whole planet.” Cadence.

If you’d like to support the team’s efforts, they’re raising money for Ashoka, an organisation that identifies and supports the world’s leading social entrepreneurs, learns from the patterns in their innovations, and mobilises a global community that embraces these new frameworks to build an ‘everyone a changemaker world’.

All money raised through this page will be directed to the work Ashoka carry out in Morocco, to search for and select social ventures led by youth and equipping them with the necessary skills to achieve success: https://sagefoundationcentral.benevity.org/community/fundraiser/8692?fbclid=IwAR3_oyGnV6ywkOXQjSQVu-MY7J9epn919dtABHBEoVkD2RKj4OAEpnmVVek

Good luck Cadence!
